CHRISTMAS BEDROOM

I always wait until the day after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas.

I just really like the fall decorations for Thanksgiving - the last hurrah if you will -
before going full-out for Christmas.
But......

Last night I had to make a trip to Walmart.
I went to buy some sewing machine needles after breaking every last one.

It had been a really good day.
 I had accomplished many projects,
and not bought a single thing.
Yet.

But as I was perusing Walmart,
I saw these plaid sheets.
I was in need of another set of sheets.
Really.
And I wanted flannel for the warmth.
And this was such a great color for Christmas,
but I can still use these sheets all winter.

And they were only $22.96.

I caved.

And bought a blanket.

$12.96

And a couple of buttons.

$1.97

I mean it was cheap, cheap, cheap.

The sheets went perfectly
with my new Pottery Barn-ish Christmas pillow.

And I saved a lot of money
making these drop cloth pillows myself.
I added some ribbon I already had -
 and the buttons.

I cut some holly and pine from my yard.

(Why did I not notice this seam when I took the photo)?

Here is a similar room from the
 Christmas 2012 Pottery Barn catalog.

Pottery Barn  vs. Mine

This bed is not the same as mine, but there is one that is almost exactly the same.

The bed at Pottery Barn is $1099.

 I've had mine for years.
We bought it at Bernie & Phylls Furniture
for $300.

Bed
Pottery Barn $1099

For a fraction of the PB cost,
I like mine just as much.

I used the ribbon tie that was wrapped
around the packaging for the sheets
and wove it through my Homegoods lamps (clearance $25).

Adornment - $Free

These little pinecones
 had adorned some candles.

I saved them knowing I would use them for something.

This was a similar lamp I found online, woah, I couldn't afford one of these, let alone two.

The perfect room for a long winter's nap.

Total cost for this Christmas Bedroom on a budget -

$53
