Snow Day

Is there anything better than an unexpected day off before Christmas. I for one, love that 5:00am phone call. I took these photos just as it started snowing. It's going to snow all day and we're expecting
up to 6 inches. Brian and I spent the morning finishing up our outdoor decor. With the exception of the window boxes, the outside has been decorated for weeks, but it's always fun to tweak it a little.

DIY Farmhouse Kitchen on a Budget

After seven years of working on our kitchen a little at a time, we have finally finished our farmhouse kitchen. This is truly a DIY kitchen on a budget. With the exception of the appliances, sink, and faucet, everything in our kitchen has been thrifted and DIYed.

Spring Greens and Easter Neutrals

We are finally settling into spring, and with it I'm peeling off the layers that I couldn't get enough of during the winter.
The house feels lighter and doesn't need much more than a little greenery here and there.

Where to Put All the Extra "Stuff"

One of the keys to keeping an older home with small rooms clutter-free is to get creative with storage solutions. I don't like seeing piles anywhere in sight, so I like to have a home for everything.

Organizing a Small Master Bedroom

It is finally, finally starting to feel like spring might be coming soon.  This was a weird winter in New England with more rain than snow, and when we did get snow, it wasn't the pretty Hallmark movie snow. It was more of that icy, slushy, icky stuff, so I'm really ready to let it all go.

I'm not sure what has gotten into me, but I can't stop cleaning out drawers and organizing everything.  It's like spring cleaning on steroids.

Since I love reading posts about decluttering, I thought I'd share what I've been up to and what systems work for me.

Lazy Days of Winter

Winter break from my job at school has been lovely. I spent a lot of time doing the things I just don't have time for when I'm working.  Mostly, I got together with friends that I haven't seen in awhile along with some time with family, and of course the pups.

DIY Reclaimed Wood Kitchen Countertops

Hey!  Do you remember me?

I've been hanging out over on Instagram and had pretty much given up blogging, but blogging was my first social media love, and I really wanted to get back to it.
