Megan's Rustic Wood Headboard

It has been about 6 months since I last posted here at the Long Awaited Home.  Life just got in the way, my old laptop died, and I just didn't feel like figuring out my new laptop.  We have had lots of changes in our family.  The first big change is our daughter Megan joined the US Air Force.  I will post more about that later, but this post is about the headboard that she and her dad made together before she left.  It is just a quick post to get my blogging feet wet again.  One of the reasons I have some time to blog again (and figure out this silly Chromebook) is that I was hit by a car almost 2 weeks ago and I have some serious injuries.  I'm recovering, and have felt much better the last 2 or 3 days, but more on that later too.

Megan has a loft above our two car garage in what was once an old barn.  She loves to decorate, and has her own ideas and style.  She wanted to make a rustic headboard for the little nook where her bed resides.

Christmas in the Family Room

I would have to say that our family room is the
 brightest room in our home...
which is weird because it is on the shady side of the house -
the only room without a window on the sunny side.
I snapped this photo during the single moment the sun peeked
through the clouds.

I have finally got some Christmas decorating photos ready.
It has been a while since we had a sunny day on the weekend,
and during the week it is now dark most days when I get home.
Getting photos for my blog is just not easy to do in the winter,
but I managed to get a few (or a ton) on a slightly overcast day
with a few peeks of sun.
Here is my Christmas kitchen...
