CHRISTMAS PARTIES, CONCERTS, & SNOW

We had my family's Christmas get together this weekend.  The little guy above is my nephew Logan.
He's always on the move, so getting a good photo is not easy.  As you can see, I didn't get one.

These lovely ladies are my niece Alisha and my daughter Megan.

And below is the rest of the motley crew.

My cousin Hannah and her husband Anthony are due any day with there baby girl - Lia.

Both of my sons were not here.
Daniel works for Apple, and had to work.
Nick does construction and also snow plowing in the winter.  We finally got some snow, and he was called in to work.

On Monday morning we woke to this.

It was our first day returning to school after the tragedy at Sandy Hook.

After a 90 minute snow delay the school day began.

When I arrived several students were lined up in the hall.  Several ran over to me and asked if I heard about the school in Connecticut.  The classroom teachers had some time set aside to talk with the students about the events.  Our students asked kind and thoughtful questions, and we had a valuable discussion.  Later, we made candles and students wrote a sentence on how they could be a light to the world.  It was very moving.  Because of our excellent principal and staff, the day went smoothly.

It was a busy day,
our school Christmas concert was scheduled.  Students were in and out of the classroom for various rehersals, band, chorus, bell choir,
and finally for the concert at the end of the day.

During this Christmas season, I am so thankful for my family, my home, my job, and the students that make my job so wonderful.  Not every day is perfect, buy every day has joy.
