DEN REVEAL

Welcome to our new den!

It is not complete yet, but I think you will agree it has come a long way from here.

The owners put all their landry in here when we came to see the house for a second time so I could take some photos.  I don't think I was supposed to open this door.

This room was being used as the master bedroom before we moved in.  We took down the curtains to let some light in, and painted  over the red.  We used Behr paint from Home Depot in "Moonlight."

We were so surprised at how bright the room became.  We actually call it our "sun room."  Technically it is really more like a den.

This room is really small.  It is a bump-out on the back of the house.  It only has 2 windows but it is soooo sunny.

We added a couple of chairs with ottomans that we bought from the homeowners for $120.

We already had the pictures that we thought might work.

We added some valances we already had.  I hope to replace these soon with some curtains I found at Target.  But at $25 a panel, it may be awhile.  We already had the floor lamp and the tables. We took one end table away and turned the other.

The room still needed something else so we headed to Homegoods.  We found the table lamp on clearance for $25, and the pair of pillows for $20 (I don't recommend these pillows though, they wrinkle and get all squishy).

We found some throws at Target.  They were on sale for $20.  My hubby thinks they are a little too thin, but I love them.

We also picked up this rug at Homegoods.  $22 on clearance.  Are you seeing a theme here?

I spray painted this candle holder.  It is old, but was purchased at Yankee Candle and given to me as a Christmas gift.  My mom gave me the Christmas Cactus and I put it in the metal plant holder after removing a very ugly fake plant.  My hubby called it the "dust collector."

I purchased these letters at Hobby Lobby and painted them with some leftover paint.  The mirror was on clearance (yeah, I know I sound like a broken record) at Homegoods.  $30 buckaroos.

Ok, so now I'll show you the "ugly corner."  Our old entertainment amoire fell apart during our move.  I'm am on the lookout for something new.  I like to be able to close the doors and hide the tv set.

I also have an antique table for the old-fashioned looking record player.  Right now it is being used elsewhere.

I am really enjoying this new room.  This is where I love to sit in the morning with my coffee and my Bible.

It's not there yet, but I'm loving it now!
