White Chippy Rusty Stool

My search for a chair-side table is finally  over. If you know me at all, you know that I can look for the perfect piece forever. Once I have an idea in my mind, I won't settle for something else, and I can be very patient. I have gone well over a year in search of a hutch for a space in my kitchen. My biggest obstacle - price. I won't pay a lot for almost anything. So I search Craigslist, go to yard sales, Goodwill, and keep my eye out on the side of the road.

For this space, I needed something for my cup of morning coffee. This is the spot where I like to read my Bible, pray, and have my morning devotions. Sadly, I hardly ever sit in this chair for the lack of a spot for my coffee. I didn't want a regular table because there are already 2 tables on either end of the sofa. I did not want side-table overkill. The room needed something old and chippy, rusty and worn. Hopefully white.

This past Friday afternoon I was returning from setting up for a Bridal Shower for a friend's daughter. I was almost home when I passed an old historical home a few houses up from mine, setting up for a Saturday morning yard sale. I took the risk and stopped. They were more than accommodating and let me look around (and we finally met after 3 years of living here).

As soon as I spotted this stool I knew it was perfect. I asked how much and they said "$5.00". I didn't even try to negociate the price. I brought it home and after peeling off the red rubber stair treads, it was perfect.

  1. It's been too long since I've visited, but your home is pretty as ever! The stool is perfect, too! I love a chippy piece full of character. I'm loving your gallery wall with the frames filled with different things. Cozy and cute!
    Blessings,
